Our Holistic & Family-Centered Approach
Speech, breathing, and eating are all connected. That’s why we take a holistic approach to therapy that focuses on your child’s overall wellness— all while working on skills that will make a big difference in your family’s quality of life.
Using a combination of playful activities and evidence-based methods, we create a safe and supportive environment where your child can grow at their own pace. We also provide practical strategies that you can use at home during mealtimes and everyday routines. We’ll be with you every step of the way!
Let’s Begin with an Evaluation
At your first session, one of our speech therapists will listen to your concerns and assess your child’s communication and swallowing skills. We specialize in the following evaluations:
Speech Sound Assessments
Feeding and Swallowing Assessments
Myofunctional Therapy Assessments
Once we learn about your child’s unique strengths and areas of need, we’ll work together to create a therapy plan.
Pediatric Feeding & Swallowing Therapy
Feeding Therapy for Infants and Children
If your child is struggling with breastfeeding, bottle feeding, or eating a variety of solid foods, we can help. We’ll start by figuring out why eating is hard and address the root cause— focusing on sensory needs, oral-motor skills, picky eating, ARFID, or lip/tongue ties. Our playful and low-pressure feeding therapy sessions will help your child:
Get the nutrition they need to grow
Improve chewing, sucking, and swallowing skills
Transition to solid foods
Explore new foods with confidence
Enjoy mealtimes without stress
With the right support, your child can become a happy, healthy eater!
Myofunctional Therapy for Kids
A Whole Body Approach to Myofunctional Therapy for Children of All Ages
Myofunctional therapy is a holistic treatment approach designed for children who have orofacial myofunctional disorders (OMDs).
We’ll start by identifying the root cause of your child’s challenges so that we can write custom exercises to support their needs. Your child will complete their exercises both in sessions and at home to strengthen and coordinate the muscles of their tongue, lips, and jaw.
By working alongside parents and other medical professionals, our myofunctional therapy sessions will make a life-long impact on your child’s overall health.
-
Myofunctional therapy focuses on muscles in your child’s mouth and face to improve their breathing, speaking, chewing, and swallowing. You can think of it like physical therapy for the face!
-
Myofunctional therapy will teach your child how to use their mouth muscles the right way for things like breathing, chewing, swallowing, and speaking. You can expect improvements such as:
Proper nasal breathing
Clear speech
Easier drinking, chewing, and swallowing
Improved lip closure, tongue mobility, tongue strength, and jaw stability
Proper dental and airway development
More restful sleep
-
Your child may benefit from an orofacial myofunctional evaluation if they demonstrate any of the following signs and symptoms:
Mouth breathing or open-mouth posture
Tongue thrust (tongue pushing forward)
Messy or difficult eating
Excessive drooling
Picky eating or gagging
Thumb sucking or prolonged pacifier use
Airway difficulties
Snoring or restless sleep
Unclear speech sounds
-
Does your child have a lip-tie or tongue-tie? Myofunctional therapy can improve the outcomes of surgery! We’ll work to strengthen the mouth muscles before the procedure and teach the tongue new movement patterns to prevent reattachment while healing.
Pediatric Speech Therapy
Speech Sound Therapy
Does your child have difficulty making certain speech sounds or struggle to speak clearly? While our sessions may feel like play, your child will receive evidence-based support to learn to use their tongue, teeth, and lips to form sounds and words correctly. Speech therapy will help your child:
Produce all age-appropriate speech sounds
Say important words clearly
Express themselves with less frustration
Feel better understood by others
Confidently communicate with family and friends
Early Intervention for Ages 0-3 Years
Speech Therapy for Late Talkers
Early communication therapy can be so impactful for toddlers and families! We’ll teach and show you practical strategies that you can use to support your toddler’s language development during play, giving them the building blocks they need to connect with the world around them. Our early intervention sessions will help your child:
Develop joint attention and imitation skills
Express their wants and needs using words
Understand others and follow directions
Communicate without tantrums
Socially interact and play with others
